Honoring the Bond

EarthdayHonoring the Bond

We talk a lot about the body. The tenets of our practice are to nurture and guide our community towards a more embodied life. Our therapists work to open, ground and awaken you into the beauty of this world.

And a beautiful world it is, indeed. As we celebrate Earth Day this year, we’d like to honor the life force flowing in and around us always by focusing our awareness on the unity we hold with the natural world.

Take a walk outside. Sit under a tree. Spend an evening staring up at the stars. When we connect with the Earth, our bodies recalibrate. The small things we do ~ opening our car windows, keeping houseplants, cooking with fresh herbs ~ these are instinctual habits we cling to in this modern age to keep us tethered, even so slightly, to our truest form.

When we take the time to fully immerse into the natural landscape, we begin to understand that “nature” is not something we merely make room for on a sunny afternoon. It is our essence. It is where we come from and what we’re made of.  When we talk of conservation and sustainability in today’s world, from the embodied point of view, these are not political issues. These are not buzzwords to gain popularity. They are primordial issues; necessary not only to our common survival as a species, but to the individual, nuanced life within us all.  Conserve. Sustain. These are the words we must bring into our hearts as we bring them to our bodies. Physically, energetically, globally. By nurturing this perspective we are serving the Earth. On Earth Day this year, serve the greater good by attending to the call from within. Then offer to the outer world, honoring the bond we keep with our Mother Earth.
