Five Ways to Enjoy Fathers Day at Golden Gate Park

Tuesday, 11th June 2013

What better way to enjoy Fathers Day then to spend quality time with the fathers in our life by exploring the outdoors.

Thankfully for us in San Francisco, Golden Gate Park contains a range of outdoor experiences, with no hiking shoes required. Below are a few fun adventures to enjoy with the father in your life this upcoming Sunday, June 16th.

1. If you head toward the Northwest end of Golden Gate Park you can find miniature remote-controlled boats cruising Spreckles Lake. Watch people show off their model boats or bring your own.

2. On Sundays the park officially closes John F. Kennedy Drive to cars so that bikers, runners, roller skaters and the like can have more room to play. You may even feel inclined to join a jammin’ roller skating party on 6th and Kennedy Drive.

3. Disc Golf is one of the most relaxing sports out there. Just grab a set of golf discs, the course at golden gate park is free.

4. Park Chalet, located at the most west end of the park, is a perfect spot to grab brunch. Enjoy your meal inside or outdoors. When you are done walk across the street to enjoy Ocean Beach.

5. Don’t forget that outer space is part of the outdoors. Head on a journey through space at the California Academy of Sciences’s planetarium. Afterward, take in a great view of golden gate park by climbing to the top of the museum to experience the living roof.

Earthbody is San Francisco’s most popular sanctuary famous for their integrative massage and bodywork sessions, spa rituals, private consultations, and handcrafted line of holistic skincare made fresh each week in small batches with love.
